about

It was NaPoWriMo (National Poetry Writing Month) 2014 and the idea was to write a poem a day for the month of April. I heard about the challenge on the 10th of April and decided to dive in anyway. I'm so glad I did. By the end of the month I had 30 poems and - even better - I had fallen in love with poetry. Along the way, I excorsised a few poetic demons such as that zen moment years ago when I threw away all my poems. The result: poetry is here to stay

I am a writer, storyteller, and cartoonist in love with stories of all shapes and sizes, particularly fond of the meeting place between the fantastical and the real. I recently completed an MA in Creative Writing at Middlesex University, specialising in Fantasy and Science Fiction.

My short story 'Pick 'n' Mix' won third prize in the NAWG 2014 Open Short Story Competition, and my poem 'Last Town on the Map' is published in the Human Genre Project. I am currently working on a cartoon series, 'The Everyday Adventures of Mythology Girl', whose eponymous heroine also happens to be a poet.

You can check out some of the other things I get up to here.
